There's plenty to go in here and there's plenty of knowledge and opinions to go around, so if you've got questions about equipment, playing styles, acoustics, or just want to know whether or not a new album sucks or not, here's your place :) I'll start with a little mini bio of my own, in case you weren't aware. I'm a professional bassist, and I know enough keyboard and sax to get me in trouble. I have four years of stage experience using various wireless and wired systems, and I have the privelege of working under Val Mash, a very capable sound man who runs most of the better bands who come through Ohio (he has some interesting stories about Journey's guitar rigs and old recording techniques from the 70s). Anyway, enough of that; here's my full equipment list if anyone wants opinions on gear in this range: My bass gear: Furman PL-8 II Power Conditioner Korg DTR-2000 Rackmount Digital Tuner Shure ULXS14 Wireless Instrument System (2) Shure UA440 Front Mount Antenna Rack Kit Behringer MULTICOM PRO-XL MDX4600 Processor Dunlop GCB-80 High Gain Volume Pedal Cliff FCR6918P Single Button Amp Footswitch Shure WA-304 Instrument Cable Lots and lots of Monster cables SWR Workingman's 15 Combo (amp) My basses: Johnson Split-Pickup "P-Style" Bass, 4-string, lefty Samick Artist Series 5-String, lefty And my real baby: Carvin custom AC50 semi-hollow acoustic fretless bass, 5-string, left-handed, gold hardware :) My radio gear: Shure A55M Isolation Mount (for microphone) (2) Shure PG48-XLR Microphone with Switch (4) Behringer MULTICOM PRO-XL MDX4600 Processor AKG K 206 Stereo Wireless Headphone System Cliff FCR6918P Single Button Amp Footswitch Behringer Eurorack UB1622FX-PRO 16-Input Mixer |

Feels Like I'm at AA. Ok my names Mr.Suburbia, havent been playing guitar long *a year and something* but i fucken love it, I even have a guitar in my hand when i'm in the nhb chatroom. And like all the newby guitarists my guitars are copies or something, but hell it does the job. Everythings stock.
1st Guitar: Squire Strat, this is the guitar i molest with a whammy bar. 2nd Guitar: A Baddass Black Les Paul copy, my out in public guitar. 3rd: Your typical Acoustic Guitar, A Deville (never heard of the brand). Great neck thou. And some broken up classical guitar *havent gotten around to fix it*.
Have a Roland Micropube, and Pevey Blazer 158. Pedals: Aria AWP-1 Wah Pedal and Behringer Ultra Metal Distorion Pedal.
Pretty much your standard begginer stuff. Not much to brag. |

Loved Dimes work, but to be honest I found those Dean Models pretty awkward to play. The body shape alone made it difficult. Look a bit cheese too, especially considering what other guitars you could get for that sort of money.
I'm on a guitar ban until something breaks, I have enough. But my next ones are definetley going to be an Ibanez S extreme metal version and maybe another fixed Bridge Ibanez RG Prestige. In my opinion, you can't beat Ibanez when it comes to getting some bang for your bucks. Even the lower end models are totally gig worthy, my favourite one is an RG370 (about £300 UK) and it plays like a dream and has easily kicked the ass of guitars twice the price on many occasions.
Check em out! |

Hmm. I'll add my gear in too. 1. Ibanez Performance Accoustic Electric - no cutout. 2. Custom Built for my height, weight, hands, etc... Samick (I have a friend who is endorsed by Samick - hook ups are great) with extreme flame and is a cherry sunburst les paul knockoff. 3. Carvin 1969 Reissue full TUBE AMP with Saturation NOT distortion. Saturation is the win. I have a bunch of pedals too but I dont feel like listing everything. |
