OK, everybody. I have to confess, I told a lie.
See, if anybody listened on Friday, there was mention of a guy posting in defcon's fight club forum named Nomad February. Nomad February was a guy who posed as a new listener to Defcon and discovered NHB through the trashings that we get on the defcon forums. As the days went on, it turned into a slugfest between Nomad and the defcon listeners who hate nhb and me, personally. They thought they had Nomad pegged as me, but I denied it. But, I have to confess now.
Nomad February is me.
The only reason I am admitting to it now is because their network admin, graphix, pegged my IP and did a whois lookup on me. I have to give the guy credit, he's good.
My intentions for going over there was to try to find out what the real issues with NHB and Damon were that Defcon had. Normally, I am not a conflict oriented guy and curiosity got the better of me. When it became clear that a civilized discussion was too much for some of their regulars, it became antagonistic. My goal? To see how long I could keep them talking about me in their forums and how long the NHB name could stay in circulation over there. And yes, there was the direct thrill of being able to hack a few of them off. So, now the defcon crew has a reason to hate me, and I feel good that I had them unable to just ignore me and go away. I guess I am a force to be reckoned with after all. The only reason I am stopping is the threat of posting my personal information in their forums, which I will go on record to say, is the lamest way to win an argument in history. I violated no rules, was not banned, and honestly feel like I fought the good fight. If you want to read it, go check out their fight club forum for yourself and search for Nomad February. You can decide if I got owned or not. Props to Graphix for using a whois directory.
If you have to know, yes, Defcon got me on a technicality, but I feel good about what I accomplished there. They will continue to spew their unfunny blind jokes, but that's OK, even more publicity for us and for me. Eventually, they'll find a new target and the retard squad will move on. So, it's all good in da hood, yo.
Nomad February, signing out, gay name and all.

| Oh, wow. I was totally fooled. Congratulations on the successful trolling. I guess we do have intelligent trolls on these forums. =D |

Well, there's the intelligent way and there is the usual way. It seems that the history of those who want to fuck with NHB is to do it the gay childish way. I just thought I would try something a little more high brow. Of course, they won't think so, but I never expected to convert any anti-Damon defcon people into pro-Damon people. But, seriously, to hate me for the shit I say on the air is just silly, since it is not serious, hence the nature of a comedy show. But, I guess people can't tell the difference between what is comedy and what is serious on nHB.

It's the whole suspension of reality thing. People today, with all the television and film available, are quick to believe what they are being presented with. Otherwise what we think of as entertainment wouldn't be entertaining. People would say to themselves, "Hey, there's no way that could work!" or "That makes little sense!" and we'd have nothing to do with it. Reality TV's pushing the suspension further, where the outcome could be totally fixed and people will believe it. It's like the driving bit in automation. People believe it, because there's the posibility that it could have happened, crazy though it may be.
If they can believe that, than believing you're an asshole isn't that far off. |

Anybody who believes that I drove Sloan's truck has to be stupid. There is no way I could've done that, with Sloan in the passenger seat, and not fucked us both up really bad. But, you have to suspend belief in order to see the comedy in the segment. As for the belief of me being an asshole, well, ask anybody who knows me off air for the real story. Sometimes, it is fun to use a medium like broadcasting to explore sides of you that you aren't in real life. And that is NHB for me, the ability to be an asshole with no worries about consequences.

It's fun to believe something like you driving Sloan's truck. Most of us listeners are willing to believe their ears as long as it's well done and funny. That's why the Ahbed bits were never popular with the others, even though that kid tried his best.
It's good to have an outlet to let off some steam, instead of letting it build and junk. I never thought of you as an asshole, though. |

Well, again, if you thought the bit was funny, even though there was no way the truck could've been driven by me, then fine. You got it. If you thought I drove the truck and thought it was funny, then that's OK, too, but you need to think a little more carefully, either that, or I need to go into acting, because I actually fucked up a few times in that bit and nobody caught it. AS for me being labeled an asshole, just go look at what the defcon folks have to say about me to know that I am not unanimously liked on the net.

I was driving home on Friday and a van passed me at 90 miles an hour; I glanced over and written on the van's back door was "Caution: Blind Man Driving"; it made me think of Damon. |

Told you the writing style looked familiar, and when you replied back to someone and follwed their name with a period instead of a comma at the beginning of a sentance, I knew it was you but stayed out of it.(Example: "Mike. I just thought...." Instead of "Mike, I just thought...")
I will not comment on the posts, or the action.

Nomad February, Damon Fibraio lol, real stealthy.
i didnt read any of that NHB vs defcon stuff. In january, when i started my new job, i was listening to diferent radio stations on iTunes, i listened to both defcon and NHB for a while, i stopped listening to Defcon since i have most of the comedy bits they air in higher quality on my iPod already. I like the automation here, it's a bunch of shit i never heard before, so it's all new to me.
Cheers m8s.

Posted By damon on 05/15/2006 10:30 AM OH, come on. I am sure I am not the only person who does the period thing. No, you're probably not, but I even tipped you off that they had the person's IP and knew it was someone in NJ. Admittedly, I didn't think it was you because I didn't think you'd stoop to that level. I told you who I thought it was, and admittedly I was wrong, but it was painfully obvious that the person was an NHB shill. I don't think you had any of them fooled though. All those guys pegged it all along that it was you. Just my $.02. I could be wrong, as I have been before. MtA |

People tend to type like they talk, that's why if you really want to do the espionage thing, you have someone else narrate or translate, and find a proxy server. |

Nah. Fuck it. I should've used a proxy, yes, but I didn't think about that. All I wanted was to find out why these tards hate me and when it began to get stupid, see how long I could keep them talking about me. I got what I wanted and a whole lot more. I now know what these tools are all about, and it is sad that they were so overwhelmed that they had to resort to threatening to post my personal info. Truely sad. But, what do you expect from that crowd? These are people who find blind jokes funny.

Just in case this didn't go through the first time... So? The point was not that they found me out. the point was to keep them talking, keep them responding. I even stated as much and told them to ignore me and they couldn't help themselves. And I even told them to actually stick to points made, but all they could do is roll off more Pedge style insults. So, I achieved the goals I set out for myself, with one bonus. When defcon can no longer hang in a verbal war, they resort to threatening you with your personal info. So, that's even better than I expected. So, who cares that they discovered me, and who cares that they are now ripping me a new ass in spade. I don't. They don't bother me. I called them out for the pussies they really are. They can't respond in any other way than to threaten people with exposing personal info, gay blind jokes and other nonsense not fitting of human beings to post. So, fine. Let them have their hollow victory. I got what I wanted. Free publicity

Proxy servers are the win. All I know is, Damon's personality is to hard to cloak. Anyone that knows him and his personality would know that was him. |
