I don't fucking care if anyone and I come to blows over this, but once again the show ended on absolute fucking pits. If I had a GOOD connection i'd wipe the floor with that soppy gaping used up whore cunt!
She was spoiling the show, you loose listeners, she pretends to use long words, she cannot create a sentance without using the words 'baby' or 'like'...
She's an attention whore, a she-male piece who ruins the last half hour of the last two shows.
She gets a half fucking hour of air time two weeks running, but I write parodies and make effort week after week and get told to left (even when my connection isn't shit)
I thank Paul and co' for putting that whore into perspective at the end of her boring fucking call. I'm aware that you are trying to play it and make it funny but IT'S NOT! IT'S SHIT! PEOPLE CALL BECAUSE THEY WANT THE GOOD NHB BACK ON THE FUCKING AIR... HER CONTENT IS NOT UP TO PAR!
If you're going to play her, do so better and try and catch this bitch out, she's a no braining whiny fucking girl.
Griff is fucking more entertaining than that. Fucking hell.

Well John and others of like minds..... if the show ended on the pits tune out and dont fucking tune in! Again I am tired of the fans pushing their agenda and what they want or think is funny.
If you have not figured out what was or was not funny about her then you obliously do not get our humor and what the show is about.
You all bitch we don't have women on the show, we don't have this or that, yet when we bring one on and are having our own banter and humor with her you all have to chime in and trash her. Why do you think I refrain from bringing moxie and others back on. Cause you all are fucking children and cannot controll yourselves! It is sad and pitiful!
She is an attention whore John? How many IM's did you send in? AND when I do not get to them right away you have to call in to say exactly what you wrote that I ignored cause it SUCKED or I couldnt get to cause ahhhh we were doing a SHOW!!!!!
As for you giving me my credit please do not bother! I do not need the ass kissing! Do your job and listen or dont! I will do mine and try and put on an entertaining show! BUT it is not entertaining in your eyes, it is in ours! You are entitled to your opinion! BUT they are like assholes everone has one! I obviously don't get your humour? I've been listening to the show for coming on three years, and I have always got your humour, funnily enough it's why I've stuck around for so fucking long! What you fail to realise here is that this isn't funny, it's just getting on the nerves of 99% of your listeners.
I never bitch that you don't have women on the show, and I had NO problem with Moxie, Sara, H-cups, even goddam Ami was more entertaining than this dumb shit. I trash her along with 90% of the rest of the listener-ship because that's all she is, fucking dumb trash.
Now you are calling me an attention fucking whore? At least I'm fucking contributing shit to this fucking show! Not that you Paul are not, but theres 160sumthing listeners out there who do nothing, and I try fucking hard for NHB. I have stuck up for you in fights and arguments, I give alot of my time to parodies, bits and helping you guys out! Alot more fucking time than alot of other fucking listeners (if you contribute, this is not directed at you...)
I wasn't kissing your ass Paul, I was just giving credit where credit is due, at least you know this dumb fucking whore is just that, but don't give over yourself and alienate the base of your listeners! All this shit about doing the show for you! About not caring whether the listeners think it's funny or not, as long as you do.. Yeah great fucking job! I know this isn't true, only a dumb fucking idiot in the same realms as Valley Girl would think that way. So when you call on the so called 'army' (something else I tried to help out on) or you want listener contributions, what if you had no fucking listeners, some fucking show that would be.
I was pissed at Val for being boring and a little annoyed that she is still getting a fucking half hour of air time, I was not angry at you Paul, but turning this around and getting pissed at me, saying my shit aint funny, when I've got the support of a whole fucking bunch of long time fans, goddam it Paul!
You're a great guy and I really like you, but I'm sorry, this girl aint worth alienating your listeners over.

I am not appologizing for my comments. I am tired of the fans railroading bits and parts of the show cause a FEW disagree with what WE the hosts deam funny!
I also am not going to appologize for defending a GUEST on our show! I will no longer allow our fans to railroad and chase off guests! Because THEY feel it is not show worthy material! Last I checked it was No Holds Barred Radio with Damon, Paul, and Rich as hosts, not all of you. By not sticking up for our guest that kills our integraty with our guests and prevents people from returning or coming on at all. Which has happened MANY TIMES!!!
We also will tear down a guest if need be, hence the attention myspace whores from last year we trashed!
John had a listener attacked you or posted what you did about her I would do the same in return. Do not take this as a personal attack. It is a professional one! What you wrote about her was harsh and uncalled for. You don't know her. Maybe and I am guessing I have know clue....... this is a bit she is trying to do. Maybe she is trying to be funny. She MAY be failing at it, she may not. You write your songs and add some great comments/content to the show. She has a right to try and do the same. You may not feel she pulls that off, BUT that is not YOUR PLACE or any other fans to make that judgement and convict her of it It is ours!

OK, On this note Paul, I do very much agree with you.
When you structure your argument like this, I am with you. I had not thought of it that way, in the light that she may be doing a bit.
I'm sorry I was so harsh on the girl before, but I do have to admit, I still don't find it funny.
I apologise for getting too angry too fast, and maybe being hastey on my judging.
I want no bad feeling to come of this between myself and NHB, both its staff and its listeners.
I'm not caving, but rather seeing your point of view Paul, and mellowing slightly on my offensive.
My comments stand ammended, and I take back the relavant parts of the previous posts.

| One small comment; Damon is constantly asking what people think, so I would find it rather contradictory to accuse John of stating his opinion when the host is constantly asking for listener opinions. It would be different if the idea was pushed that "we do our show and don't care what you think", but that's obviously not true, so let's try to be consistent :) |

Zane I have no problem with someone coming on and giving their honest opinion of our work/show. I do want to hear what people think. Doesn't mean I will change it. I am doing what I think is funny and want to do and Damon feels the same. What I do not want is the constant BASHING and railroading the fans tend to do especially when a female comes on the show. I will admit we have had our bad ones and the track record is not that good BUT Val came on and was doing her thing. People right away attacked her for her doing her thing. If it is an act or not. Read Johns post. It was a personal attack NOT critisism. People can love or hate what we do and talk about it. BUT using words like Fucking Valley Bitch and whore is not commenting on how a bit is or went. Not to tear down a wall here and have to explain to much but I have talked to Val off air and lets just say she is different off air then on. SO with that wall being torn down it is ok for John and others to come on the air, do their bits, songs, IM's etc and not her cause they deam what she is doing as not funny? Since when is that NO HOLDS BARRED?
So for the record! We want your opinions BUT lets make them worth while and not personal. Lets remember not everyone brings the same expereince to the table, and lets remember we are all here to have fun. This is a hobby RIGHT?

i dont want to get flamed along with the other listeners so ill try and keep this from being too personal or an all out flame on my part.
i beleive that IF the girl she potrays online is similar to the one she is in real life then she is not a nice person. i said this on the mailing list last week. she seems to think she is the best thing since sliced bread. she has a very high opinion of herself, and it isnt just self confidence. theres a differance between being confident in yourself and being up yourself. this nature along with many of the things she says and the way she acts makes me think she is.. well, a skank. im sorry theres no other way i can say this. if this is a character she is potraying on the show, then i suggest she change it because im yet to hear one listener who likes her (admittedly i did cut her session short when listening to the podcast, as i just couldnt deal for the second week in a row. so if someone said they did like her there im unaware of it)
and as a side note about what paul said regarding female listeners being flamed and bashed when they call in. i AM a female and i agree with the males on this one. and while most women will be messed with judging by the bits ive heard, live and automation, they are usually treated reasonably well, although sexually. i dont consider the sexual jokes and terrible 20 to be the same as this, where people genuinly dont like this girls attitude. |

Ok, I'm your typical listener. I'm not too well known, I try to listen in to shows as much as possible and support them as much as i can. I may write dumb messages and so forth etc. But the thing i've realised is that..I'm only a listener to i no my place when it comes to suggesting what shows have to do *which is jack shit*. Honestly yes, she appeared shallow and up herself but i recon all of us can agree with is that she handled herself really well. I was amazed at the responses she gave. But i think Emily called it right when she said that we all wanted to protect Damon. Because i think we all shared the same thought when Vala called in and that was "oh here we go again".
And it seems that i have lost my point *brain fart*...maybe next time. (BTW i signed up for mailing list and havent gotten a word back) |

Only took me 11 months to make my second post, guess I should break out the champagne and celebrate the anniversary.
I thought this girl was funny initially but my entertainment faded, she deserves props for trying out her bit none the less. Fortunately (well, not really since I miss the live element but still) I listen to the podcast and can simply fast forward past segments I don't find funny. There is no way for the hosts to determine if what a person says or does will be funny in advance though which is why dismissing a caller right away is a bad idea. Sometimes callers make no sense at all and just bog down the show but at times they're pure comedic genius.
Listeners' opinions is the absolutely most critical thing in keeping the show viable. One should always aim for one's target audience to 100%, happy listeners mean more listeners, which means more happy listeners, which means... well you get the point. If the listeners are entertained and the show focuses on something they appreciate they will be more active, call in more, etc which will lead to an even better show. Naturally you know all of this since the show has been growing for several years now. It does not only apply to shows but any entity really, commercial or not. A bit of a paradox is that the first time this girl called in the listeners were entertained (at least I was) by ripping her which lead to more activity.
However, like I said earlier, it is entirely impossible for the hosts of a show to determine in advance if what this girl will say next will be great or shite. Unless there is something else which they know will be better on the way in then obviously they have to run with her in the hope of striking gold. "Her" in this context can be replaced by just about anything since it's a general statement modeled after this particular conversation.
Mental John, you are pure gold in most circumstances. I have never heard Damon say "eh..." (which is rare in itself) as many times as when he gets blindsided by one of your lines. Good stuff. Either this girl will shape up or slip out, no matter what route she takes we will end up with the good old show again, either with a funnier version of her (everbody needs training) or without her.
The song contest is just great by the way, keep up the fantastic work, see you in another year :)
EDIT: Oh my god, this forum really didn't handle paragraphs very well and just put everything as one long sentence. It might hate my browser. Hopefully you guys can stand it.

i guess that is something i didnt even think to mention again Mr. Suburbia, the reason i, and id say most of the listeners, are so adimant about this IS because we dont want to see damon hurt by another bitchy immature girl. i did share the thought of "oh here we go again" when i first heard her.
i really hope damon can see through her shallow nature. theres better people out there |

for the most part i'm staying out of this one, i don't mind tuning out when val comes on, but i remember back when
you guys had those two bitches in the studio before and your show sucked ass, you came back the next week and told us that
we should tell you if the show starts sucking. well, now we're telling you. the only people that want that girl to jump on for hours
at a time are the three of you,vamp, and that one listener that wanted more girls on the show for him to wack off to.

You all can tune out, and for others you can continue to "PROTECT" Damon. BUT till Damon and I feel she is no longer fun, funny or interesting she will come and go as we see fit.
Damon can protect himself also! He has proven that! Also she has made no promiss or threat of anything.
She is an upbeat, open, airy personality that is a bit out there. I went back and listened to podcasts! She actually tried being funny and open til some of you just went nuts on her. Then she held her own and gave it right back to you all! I think that is the first woman (other then Sara) to really hold her own on NHB. (after all I did make Sara cry..... sorry)
Just that fact that this thread has gotten as much interest as it has is proof that it is worth something.
So keep listening or don't!

You may be right that damon can protect himself when attacked on his show. BUT, and this is what i think everyone is getting at here Paul, the boy tends to act like a lost puppy when a woman shows even the least bit of interest in him. Recent case in point: Amy. Wasn't that the bitch that there were five or six people trying to tell him that she was playing him with the whole car accident thing, but he didn't want to hear it. Guess what? We tried to protect him then...he didn't protect himself there, now did he?
THAT's what people were thinking "Here we go again". THAT's why people were trying to PROTECT him. Savvy?

thats very true and i think that really is what everyones trying to get at MtA. we would put up with the boring junk, heck 60 or so of you listen to gators weekly :P but its the fact that we see this as being another bad experience for damon and we dont want to see him hurt by a girl playing him again
